Roots. Roots Everywhere.
Sewer lining from Trenchless Innovations saved the day when a Dolton, Illinois resident received the results of a sewer line inspection performed by his gas company. The inspection showed a sewer with heavy tree root growth. He feared the roots would lead to a repair that would dig up his yard and break the bank.
Formulating a Plan.
Being a responsible homeowner, he contacted several companies for quotes on the cost of lining his sewer. To his dismay, most companies immediately suggested installing an outside sewer cleanout and did not discuss sewer lining. Then he called Trenchless Innovations, who devised a plan to line his sewer.
An outside cleanout is the easiest and most accessible way to gain access to a sewer line for cleaning, however, simply installing a cleanout would not have solved the problem. Once roots grow into a sewer line, they do not stop. Removing an offending tree or bush doesn’t help because roots keep growing. Installing an outside cleanout meant he would have to repeatedly have his sewer rodded to keep the roots out.
A Trenchless Solution
Sewer lining, on the other hand, repairs broken and cracked sewer pipe by sealing them with a safe, non-toxic liner that prevents roots from penetrating it and therefore, entering the sewer pipes. Sewer lining from Trenchless Innovations is a long-lasting solution that solved his problem and made more sense than installing an outside cleanout.
Trenchless Innovations began by performing their own sewer line inspection of the sewer. Our technician quickly determined the configuration of the sewer, including how it runs in and out of the home. He found a laundry tub in the basement that was connected to a catch basin leading directly to the main sewer line in the street. Beginning at the outlet of the catch basin, our team lined the entire sewer from the basin to the city main, creating brand new sewer pipes in place of the old, cracked one.
Thanks to the detailed inspection of the sewer, Trenchless Innovations lined the sewer without having to dig and install an outside cleanout. Our sewer lining process saved the homeowner thousands of dollars and removed any possibility of future root growth and damage to the sewer.
