When a local realtor had a sale in Lincolnshire, Illinois in jeopardy because of deteriorated underground air ducts found during an inspection, they quickly called Trenchless Innovations. Not only were the ducts deteriorated, but they had once had standing water in them as well. The home contained a vaulted ceiling with no attic, so converting the system overhead meant major construction that would have altered the look of the interior.
Trenchless Innovations inspected the ducts and performed a drainage assessment of the property to determine the reason for the water in the vents. The downspout and sump pump lines were dropping water directly against the house, causing a water buildup against it, and ultimately causing the water to enter the ducts. The drainage problem was remedied by extending the downspout and sump pump discharge lines to direct water away from the house.
With the water problem resolved, Trenchless Innovations sprayed the interior of the underground ducts with duct lining material. Our liner completely restored them, eliminating the need for a costly overhead conversion or having to break up the floors in order to repair the deteriorated ducts below. With the new liner installed, the sale of the house went through, saving both the realtor and the seller the loss of a sale.
